The Training Methodology Department (TMT) is an independent structural unit of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute of Post-Graduate Studies. It is under the jurisdiction of the Pro-Rector for Training.

The TMT carries out its work in accordance with the by-laws adopted by the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science, the Statute of the Institute, the Provision for the Training Methodology Department, decisions of the Academic Council, orders and instructions of the Rector, instructions of the Pro-Rector as well as in-house regulations and other normative documents.

Primary tasks of the Training Methodology Department:

• planning and organizing the educational process in the Institute in all the forms of education, including the MA course, post-graduate studies and PhD course;

• keeping documents on training and training methodology work;

• coordinating the training methodology work of the Institute;

• defining the amount of training load for each academic year;

• controlling the teachers’ work load;

• drafting the schedule of studies, consultations and examinations; controlling the course of the educational process and examination sessions; keeping the inventory of and distributing auditoria;

• developing, in cooperation with the graduation chairs, curricular and other training methodology documentation;

• providing methodological support to lecturers in organizing and conducting studies and in preparing training methodology materials;

• organizing and preparing methodological and pedagogical councils, processing their minutes and decisions;

• keeping documents and drafting statistical and other reports on the issues of training and methodology;

• analyzing, together with the graduation chairs, draft orders concerning the composition of certification commissions; summing up and analyzing the work of these commissions;

• preparing draft orders on the training methodological work;

• keeping correspondence with other universities concerning the training and training methodology work;

• checking up the readiness of the chairs for a new academic year.
